Obituary for Arlene G. Brubaker (Graybill)




Arlene G. Brubaker, 94, of McAlisterville, passed away at 1:32 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on August 7, 1923 in McAlisterville, Juniata County, she is a daughter the late Everett and Vera (Shelley) Graybill. On April 25, 1943, she was married to her late husband, Lester L. Brubaker, with whom she was blessed to share more than 68 years of marriage with before his passing on August 1, 2011.
She was a graduate of Fayette High School where she served as the valedictorian of her class.
Arlene was employed as a seamstress at L. Shellenberger Shirt Factory in McAlisterville. Later in life, she was employed as a cafeteria worker at the East Juniata High School, Cocalamus and also helped with the accounting on her family farm with her husband.
Mrs. Brubaker was a member and had attended the Lost Creek Mennonite Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, flowers, and gardening.
She is survived by her three children, Marlene Watts, Daryl Brubaker and his wife Denise, and Delbert Brubaker, all of McAlisterville; three grandchildren, Rich Watts and his wife Jody, Brent Brubaker and his wife Rebecca, Lauren Waite and her husband David; and four great-grandchildren, Alec Joseph Watts, Alyssa Jean Waite, Jacob Lee Brubaker, Matthew Charles Brubaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in law, Richard Watts; and a brother, Lloyd S. Graybill.
Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Lost Creek Mennonite Church with her nephew Pastor Keith Graybill officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Brubaker’s memory can be made to the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
