Sue W. Leister, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at 4:39 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born on August 20, 1936, in Fayette Twp., Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Ruth (Rickenbaugh) Landis. On January 27, 1953, she married her surviving husband, Harry M. Leister Jr., with whom she was blessed to share more than 65 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Debra Church and her husband Gene of Camp Hill, Frank Leister and his wife June of Dillsburg, Amy Willow and her husband Gary of Thompsontown, Laura Sichula and her husband Rick of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Leister was a member of the Rockville United Methodist Church, Harrisburg.
She was a homemaker being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was taking care of her family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from the Rockville United Methodist Church, 4386 North Sixth St., Harrisburg, PA 17110 with the Rev. Karen Atanasoff officiating. Interment will be private in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Leister’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
