Obituary for James C. "Jim" Esterline

James C. “Jim” Esterline, 74, of McAlisterville passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on June 21, 1943, in Liverpool, Perry County he was a son of the late Harold W. and Lois R. (Taylor) Esterline. On December 27, 1970, he married his surviving wife, Mary Lynn (Redmond) Esterline, with whom he was blessed to share more than 47 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly Cameron and her husband Daniel, of Millerstown; siblings, Larry Esterline and his wife Carol, of East Liverpool, OH, Stephen Esterline and his wife Patricia, of Millerstown, David Esterline and his wife Brenda, of Evendale, Becky Zeigler and her husband Mark, of Oakland Mills; and he leaves behind 2 granddaughters, Kylie and Sydney Cameron.
He was a 1961 graduate of East Juniata High School and member of the St. Peter’s Community Church, Millerstown, where he served on the Church consistory and as the Church Treasurer. Jim was also a member and past member of the board of the directors, of the Lost Creek Golf Club and was a past member of the Richfield Lions Club.
After high school, James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. After returning from the military, he graduated from the Electronics Institute, Harrisburg.
Mr. Esterline was employed as an electronics engineer by CTS, of Carlisle until his retirement in 2005.
Jim enjoyed playing golf and tennis and coaching little league baseball. He was also an avid Penn State Football fan and a Philadelphia Sports fan, who supported the Eagles and the Phillies.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Millerstown with Pastor Brittin Stimeling officiating, where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.
