Obituary for William H. Zeiders

William H. Zeiders, 70, of Mifflintown (Licking Creek) passed away at 2:05 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017, at his home.
Born on October 9, 1947, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late James E. and Bessie (Burd) Zeiders. On February 21, 1969, he married his surviving wife, Janice A. (Erhard) Zeiders, with whom he was blessed to share more than 48 years of marriage.
Surviving are his children, Tammy L. Weaver and her husband Reuben, William R. Zeiders and his wife Shannon, all of Mifflintown; siblings, Nancy Garland and her husband Marlin, Lloyd Zeiders and John Zeiders all of Mifflintown; five grandchildren, Brittany L. Kerstetter, Rachelle M. Weaver, Gabby N. Weaver, Karrigan E. Zeiders, Garrett W. Zeiders; and a great-grandson, Karter L. Kerstetter.
A daughter, Amy J. Kerstetter, preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863 and the American Legion Post No. 298, both of Mifflintown.
Mr. Zeiders proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War.
In earlier life he was employed by Clyde’s Gulf Station, Mifflintown, then Juniata Concrete after which he was employed by Excel Homes, Liverpool, then Pro-Built Homes, Mifflintown and he again he was employed by Juniata Concrete where he retired.
William enjoyed going to the Hollywood Casino, hunting, fishing, golfing, bingo playing softball with the Tuscarora Softball Assoc., spending time camping, and playing cards with his friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. David P. Landis, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.
Viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at the funeral home.
