Obituary for M. Catherine Peterson (McCulloch)

M. Catherine Peterson, 89, formerly of Port Royal passed away at 12:58 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on October 8, 1928 in Honey Grove, Juniata County, she is the daughter of the late William and Florence (Page) McCulloch. On June 7, 1947 she married her late husband, Clarence M. Peterson, with whom she was blessed to share more than 36 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 1, 1984.
Surviving are 5 children, Betty Stuber, of Ickesburg, Trudy Wagner and her husband James, of Mifflintown, Ella Mae Plank and her husband Calvin, of Blairs Mills, Shirley Cooper and her husband James, of Lewistown, David Peterson and his wife Tina, of Myerstown and she leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
An infant daughter, Ida Bella Peterson, an infant sister, a son-in-law, Ronald Stuber Sr., a granddaughter, Lisa Cooper and a grandson, Wayde Stuber preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and was a member of the Honey Grove United Methodist Church.
Earlier in life she was employed as a seamstress by Rae Sel, Port Royal and later retired from the East Waterford Textile Sewing Factory.
Catherine loved attending the dirt track races at Port Royal Speedway and enjoyed listening to music.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and the burial will be in the McCulluch’s Mills, Cemetery, Honey Grove.
