Obituary for Ethel I. Beasom

Ethel I. Beasom, 82, of Thompsontown, passed away at 9:17 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home.
Born on August 30, 1935, in Landisburg, Perry County she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Reichenbach) Swartz. On March 10, 1954 she married her late husband Robert J. Beasom with whom she was blessed to share more than 47 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 16, 2001.
Surviving are a companion; Clifford Brown of Port Royal, her three children, Robert E. Beasom and his wife, Karen of McAlisterville, Tammy Brown and her husband Terry of Millerstown, Sue A. Prye of Mexico; a sister, Sara Evelyn Yorks of Thompsontown; six grandchildren, Stephanie Bonnell and her husband, Ronnie, Garth Carlson and his wife Tonda, Kristy Walters and her husband Mike, Cody Prye and his wife Jenna, Aaron Prye and his wife, Samantha, Dory Brown and ten great-grandchildren, Trinity Geedy-Gill, Dakota Bonnell, Bryce Carlson, Kobe Bonnell, Kelton Bonnell, Isaac Carlson, Eden Jane Walters, Braden Prye, Emma Prye, and Conner Prye.
A son, Terry “Boo” Beasom, two sisters, Violet Foose, Thelma Foose and four brothers, Clyde Swartz, Henry Swartz, Glenn Reichenbach and Wayne Swartz, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Beasom was a member of the Tuscarora Church of the Brethren, Port Royal and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 925, Millerstown.
For over forty years she was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown.
Ethel had a gift for cooking, baking and canning. She loved to listen to music and go to family reunions and cookouts; however, her true joy was the love she shared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall Street, McAlisterville with Pastor Jerry Wise and the Rev. Charles Sheaffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills.
A viewing will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
