OBITUARY NOTICE
MARJORIE E. “MONIE” KISTLER

Marjorie E. “Monie” Kistler, 72, of East Waterford, passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at her home.
Born on April 20, 1945 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Marjorie M. (Renninger) Casner. On April 20, 1995, she married her surviving husband Norman C. Kistler, with whom she was blessed to share more than 22 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Bobbie Ann Boone, of Middleburg, William Boone, Calvin Boone, both Mifflin, James Boone, of South West Ranchero, FL; siblings Roxie Goshorn, Robert P. “Chink” Casner, Stanley B. “Brad” Casner and his wife Nancy, William H. Casner, all of Mifflintown; grandchildren, Chad Walter and his wife Ashton, Kody Kreamer, Autumn Boone, Ashley Boone, Amisha Boone, Brandon Boone, Brandy Minium and her husband Zach, Samantha Boone; and she also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Riley and Nyla.
Three brothers, Henry C. “Cal” Casner, Merrill S. Casner, F. Barry Casner and two sisters, H. Sonja Hockenberry and Esther May Dunn, preceded her in death.
In 1986 she earned both her G.E.D, and her security guard certification at the Harrisburg Area Community College.
Her memberships included the Dry Run American Legion, Post 232 and she donated regularly to the S.P.C.A.
In earlier life, Mrs. Kistler, was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown and later worked as a bartender for both Brownie’s Tavern and Goshorn’s Tavern.
“Monie” loved her animals, making crafts, working in her garden and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. She was also a very good cook and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She served as the host during hunting and fishing seasons for the Snyder County Gang. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating.
