Irene K. Eby, 93, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin and formerly of McAlisterville went home to be with her Lord at 5:57 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Village.
Born on September 25, 1921 in Fayette Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Banks and Marion (Shrawder) Seifred. On September 28, 1984 she married her husband J. Ralph Eby, with whom she was blessed to share more than 15 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on November 1, 1999.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Nankivell and her husband Richard, of Millerstown, Susan Lukens and her husband Robert, of McAlisterville; step-daughter Elsie Marie Creasey and her husband Larry, of Narvon; sister, Faye Smith, of McAlisterville, 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
Mrs. Eby was a 1940 graduate of Fayette High School, McAlisterville and a member of the East Salem United Methodist Church.
For many years, until her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress and forelady by L. Shellenberger and Sons, McAlisterville.
Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private with Pastor Joseph Yorks officiating. Interment will be in the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.
