Obituary for Betty E. Fegan (Scott)



Betty E. Fegan, 90, of Blairs Mills passed away at 7:12 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg.

Born March 7, 1928 in Tell Twp., Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Nelson) Scott. On January 3, 1948, she married her late husband, Warren R. Fegan, with whom she was blessed to share more than 28 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 22, 1976.

Surviving are her children, Vivian Atherton, Sara Ruth Burdge both of Blairs Mills, Carol Walker and her husband Daniel of McVeytown, Janice Price and her husband Paul of Blairs Mills, John Fegan and his wife Florence of Shade Gap, and Patricia “Beetle” Eaton and her husband Herbie of Doylesburg; nineteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren .

Three grandchildren preceded her in death and she was last of her generation having been preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

Betty was employed and retired in 1990 as a Munitions worker at the Letterkenny Army Depot.

Mrs. Fegan had attended the Village Lighthouse Chapel in Blairs Mills and in earlier life enjoyed hunting and needle point. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon, Sunday, August 19, 2018, at the Village Lighthouse Chapel, Blairs Mills, with her niece, Rev. Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will follow at the United Presbyterian Cemetery in Concord.

Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Sunday at the church.
