Obituary for Betty J. Karstetter

Betty J. Karstetter, 86, of Mifflintown passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on February 18, 1932 in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Scott and Bessie (Lehman) Dolin. On October 13, 1950 she married her late husband, Charles E. Karstetter Jr., with whom she was blessed to share more than 36 years of marriage, before he preceded her in death on October 26, 1986.
She is survived by a daughter, Rose Wise and her husband Cecil Jr., of Mifflintown, 2 sons, Scott Karstetter and his wife, Cheryl, of McAlisterville, Terry Karstetter and his wife Karen, of Lancaster, a brother, Russell Dolin, Shermans Dale, 6 grandchildren, Heather Mohd and her husband Bill, Maggie Esbenshade and her husband Brett, Michael Karstetter, Lori Miller, Jeff Miller and his wife Tina, Kristy Miller, 7 great-grandchildren, Sterling Mohd, Preston Mohd, Danica Mohd, Chase Esbenshade, Charlotte Esbenshade, Teagan Miller and Landon Miller..
A brother, Rudy Dolin and a son-in-law, William Setzler Jr., preceded her in death.
In earlier life she was employed in the Beaming Department by the American Viscose Corp., of Lewistown and later retired from Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown.
Mrs. Karstetter was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 298 both of Mifflintown.
Betty loved to read, do cross stitch and after retirement she enjoyed performing with the Stone Arch Players.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 19, 2018 from the Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown with the Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating.
With Mrs. Karstetter’s love of reading and fondness of the Juniata County Library, the family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Juniata County Library, 498 Jefferson Street, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
