Obituary for Edwin C. Felton

Edwin C. Felton, 81, of Valley View Terrace and formerly of Mifflintown passed away at 2:01 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Valley View Rehab Center, Belleville.
Born on May 7, 1936, in Roaring Springs, Blair County, he was the son of the late William and Frances Neil (Kline) Felton. On October 5, 1956, he married Clara E. (Winslow) Felton, with whom he was blessed to share more than 60 years of marriage before her passing on April 15, 2017.
He is survived by his sons, Dr. Rick Felton and his wife Irene, of Ft. Collins, CO, Steven Felton and his wife Shelli, of Reedville; a sister, Betty Tressler of Loganton; and he leaves behind four grandchildren, Emily Felton, Matthew Felton, Alana Felton and Luke Felton, and two great grandchildren, Avery and Charlie Pentico.
Edwin was a 1954 graduate of Lock Haven High School and was a member of the Lewistown Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Felton honorably served our country in the United States Navy as a career Naval submariner for 22 years. During his service, he was a quartermaster achieving the rank of senior chief petty officer. He served on diesel and nuclear submarines, including fast attack and ballistic missile submarines. He also served as chief of the boat on the USS Trepang and was a plank owner on the USS Benjamin Franklin.
He enjoyed woodworking and attending Southern Gospel concerts, but most of all, spending time with his family.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 from the Lewistown Assembly of God Church, 160 Summit Drive, Lewistown with Rev. Dennis Sproull and Rev. Richard Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in the Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veteran's Council.
A closed casket visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services on Monday at the Church.
