Marvin M. Hockenberry Sr., 65, of Mifflin, passed away at 3:51 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2018, at his residence.

Born on July 1, 1952 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, he is the son of the late Clyde and Thelma (Eby). On November 5, 2002 he was preceded in death by his companion June Mae Palm.

Surviving are a nephew with whom he raised since the age of three, James Palm and his wife Melinda, of Mifflin, his children, Marvin M. Hockenberry and his wife Jennifer, Susan Tanner, all of McAlisterville, Ashly Colbert and her husband Joe, of Lewistown, Douglas W. Tanner, of Mifflintown, a sister, Sharon Runk, of Virginia, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Two brothers, Ed Hockenberry and Robert Eby preceded him in death.

He was employed at Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc. until he had to retire on disability.

Marvin loved the outdoors, being an avid hunter and fisherman.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018, from the South Juniata Baptist Church, 3647 Smokey Hollow Road, Honey Grove, with the Pastor Caleb Burd officiating. Interment will follow private.

There will be no viewing or visitation.
