Obituary for Leon F. Gutshall Sr.

Leon F. Gutshall Sr., 80, of Honey Grove, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on April 6, 1937, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is the son of the late Wayne and Edith (Cavanaugh) Gutshall.
Surviving are his children, Emma J. Bowsman and her husband Cloyd, of Honey Grove, Leon F. Gutshall Jr., of Graterford, Dreama D. Schlegel and her husband Floyd of Mifflintown, Tammy L. Noss and her husband Barry of Ickesburg; 3 siblings, Wayne Gutshall and his wife Mary, of Lewistown, Wanda Patrick, of Alabama, Edith “Sis” McCluskey, of Lewistown; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A grandson, Joshua L. Noss, a great-granddaughter, Skye Marie Gutshall, 2 brothers, Charles Gutshall, William Gutshall and a sister, Charlene Campbell preceded him in death.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mifflintown and he retired from Mann Edge Tool, Lewistown. During his retirement he was a security guard at Empire Kosher Poultry Inc., Mifflintown and he was a driver for Bowsman Auto Parts.
Leon was known as the “Taxi Driver”, driving his grandchildren around to their various activities and also anyone else who would need a ride. He will long be remembered for sitting on the porch with the family dog Charlie. To quote Leon, “See ya tomorrow, Lord willing!”
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, from the First Baptist Church, Mifflintown with Pastor Ronald Shupe. Interment will be private.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
