Obituary for Alma M. Pennabaker

Alma M. Pennabaker, 86, of East Waterford, passed away at 8:05 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on September 11, 1931, in Buffalo Twp., Perry County she was a daughter of the late Russell and Ellen Claire (Sundy) Kingsboro. On April 4, 1948 she married her surviving husband Ed Pennabaker, with whom she was blessed to share more than 69 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by, a son, Fred Pennabaker and his wife Mindy, of East Waterford, a daughter-in-law Pam Pennabaker, of Fayetteville, NC; siblings, William Kingsboro and his wife, Carol, of Corcoran, MN, Linda Wiser, of York Haven; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A son, Irvin E. “Butch” Pennabaker, Jr. and a sister, Barbara L. Yohn, preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Waterford Fire Company.
Mrs. Pennabaker will long be remembered for her 38 years of service as a clerk for Long’s Community Store, East Waterford.
Alma’s favorite pastimes were playing Bingo, shopping and doing arts and crafts, such as pottery and ceramics. She also enjoyed knitting and had a great love for animals.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 from the Faith United Methodist Church, East Waterford with the Rev. Marcia Bookhamer officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday, at the church.
