Obituary for Letha C. Swab (Clark)

Letha C. Swab, 80, of Mifflintown died at 5:43 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her home.
Born on June 10, 1937, in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Vanza (Soult) Clark. On August 26, 1954, she married her surviving husband, R. Clark Swab, with whom she was blessed to share more than 63 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Patti Rae Strawser and her husband John, of McAlisterville, “Petey” Swab, of Mifflintown and her fiancée, Kurt Crater, of Spring Mills, Jim Swab and his wife Lori, of Mifflintown; grandchildren, Kate Strawser, Cody Swab, Lacey Swab and great grandchildren, Howie Shehan.
A sister, Janet Rae Clark, preceded her in death on August 28, 1955.
She was a very active member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the J&J Achievers Sunday school class, served as deacon and trustee, as well as the chairperson of the funeral meal committee and the cemetery committee. She also served as a Den Mother for the Mifflintown Cub Scout Pack and was a member secretary of the Juniata County Sportsman Club.
Letha was a homemaker, who loved flowers and being a caregiver, taking care of the elderly and her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Third and Lemon St., Mifflintown with Pastor Nancy McClure and Rev. Graham Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
A viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday, at the church.
