Obituary for Fay Ellen Rumberger (Hoverter)

Fay Ellen (Hoverter) Rumberger, 68, of Middleburg, formerly of Millerstown, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Penn Medicine Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where she was being evaluated for a double lung transplant.
Born on March 30, 1949 in Cocolamus, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Arlene (Hoverter) Devlin. On October 17, 1970 in Bunkertown, she married her surviving husband, Richard L. Rumberger, with whom she was blessed to share more than 46 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three loving sisters, Patsy Crawford and husband Frank of Honey Grove, Mary Zeigler and her husband John of Cocolamus, and Betty Imes and her companion Charlie Stine of Thompsontown, many caring nieces and nephews, and her loving pets, Glacier and Bisket.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a half brother, Alfred Jamison, a half sister, Vivian Hutzel, and a nephew, Weston Imes.
She was a 1967 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus.
Her memberships included the Trinity United Methodist Church in Middleburg, the Middleburg Fire Company and Ambulance League, the Kreamer Fire Company, and the LAM Foundation.
Mrs. Rumberger was employed and retired as a Clerical Supervisor with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Fay enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together, and keeping in touch with her Facebook friends on a daily basis. She also enjoyed camping with her family and friends at the Penn Avon Campground where she had been camping there for the past 30 years, camping in October in Lancaster, and going to Florida and Gatlinburg, TN on vacations. Fay was very active until she was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville in 2010.
All Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
