Obituary for Donna M. Gray

Donna M. Gray, 70, of Mifflintown, passed away at 7:29 a.m., on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born on March 13, 1947, in Walker Twp., Juniata Co., she is a daughter of the late Howard D. “Buzz” and Virginia W. (Jones) Renninger, Sr. On October 23, 1982 she married her surviving husband, Timothy E. Gray with whom she was blessed to share nearly 35 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Garett T. Gray, of Mifflintown; three sisters, Shirley T. Groce, Helen A. “Sis” Leach, both of Mifflintown, V. Sue Pontius and her husband Marvin, of Thompsontown; a sister-in-law, Carol A. Renninger, of Mifflintown; and her nieces and nephews, Kelli Houtz, Jodi Reed, Brenda Peachey, Brent Leach, Staci Deamer, Wendi Cohenour, Heidi Kauffman, Holly Renninger, Herm Renninger, Candi Zimmerman, Jason Pontius, Tate Pontius, and great nieces and nephews. Also her four legged canine kids, Danica, Junior and Tony.
One brother, Howard D. “Butch” Renninger, Jr., and one sister, Patricia L. “Pat” Swartwood preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania Notaries Association.
Mrs. Gray along with her husband,owned and operated Gray’s Licensing and Gray’s Automotive and Towing, both of Mifflintown. Currently, she is the Juniata County Registrar for the PA Department of Vital Records.
Donna followed in her brother’s footsteps as a race car driver, who tallied a handful of wins at several local race tracks, including the Port Royal Speedway, in the Powder Puff division. Her foremost passion was dogs, and she always loved playing cards with her sisters. She had a gift for cooking, and loved preparing for the Holidays as well as entertaining friends and family throughout the year.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 9, 2017, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown, with Rev. Dan Kerlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Viewing will be held from 6-8 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the funeral home.
