Barbara J. “Barb” Frankenberry, 83, of the Richfield Senior Living & Rehabilitation Center, Richfield and formerly of Mifflintown, passed away at 2:02 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
Born on February 8, 1934 in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Harris M. and Anna E. (Longacre) Delancey. On December 6, 1957 she married her late husband, Lee C. Frankenberry, with whom she shared more than 36 years of marriage.
Surviving are her 2 daughters, Jolene Langan and her husband John, of Port Royal, Vickie L. Gates and her husband Jimmy, of Millerstown, a brother, David H. Delancey and his wife Marie, of McAlisterville, a sister, Stella W. Hepner and her husband Harvey, of Mifflintown; 6 grandchildren; Rob Freed, Dustin Feed and his wife Trisha, Jessica Gearhart and her husband Bob, Jerhica Seigler, Zack Gates, Daphne Gates, and she leaves behind 6 great grandchildren, Shawn Freed, Bridgett Freed, Mason Gearhart, Dalton Gearhart, Danika Gearhart, Carissa Gearhart.
Four brothers, H. Russell Delancey, Arthur Delancey, Thomas Delancey, Donald V. Delancey, Sr. and three sisters, Patricia Weiand, Wilda Stanford and Esther Hostler preceded her in death.
Mrs. Frankenberry retired from Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown.
Barb, who relished shopping, had a gift for writing poetry and doing needle point. She also enjoyed taking care of writing the newsletter for the nursing home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Bob Landis and Dan Martin officiating. Interment will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Viewing will be held from 7 – 9 pm Monday, June 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
