Obituary for Robert G. Watts Sr.

Robert G.  Watts Sr.
Robert G. Watts, Sr., 96, of McAlisterville passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.
Born on September 15, 1920 in Fayette Twp., Juniata County he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Annie (Thompson) Watts. On October 25, 1942, he married his late wife Elizabeth J. (Jameson) Watts, with whom he was blessed to share more than 62 years of marriage until she preceded him in death on November 8, 2004.
Surviving are: three sons, Robert G. Watts, Jr. and his wife Trudy, Richard J. Watts and his wife Susan, all of McAlisterville, James E. Watts and his wife Barbara, of Etters, 8 grandchldren, Robert J. Watts and his wife Wendy, Jonathan Watts and his wife Sarah, Colby Watts and his wife Laura, Nathan Watts, Lindsey Watts, Lauren Weber and her husband Bret, James Watts and his wife Megghan, Sam Watts and his wife Kirsten and 6 great grandchildren, Andrew Watts, Gavin Watts, Garrett Watts, Kamryn Weber, Alexander Weber and Azlynn Grace Watts.
Five siblings, Samuel T. Watts, Hugh C. Watts, Jane McMillen and James A. Watts preceded him in death making him the last of his generation.
Mr. Watts was a 1938 graduate of Fayette High School, McAlisterville and had attended Penn State University for several Agriculture courses. He was a lifelong member of the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville where he held several positions in the church, including, Trustee and Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery Board member. He was also very active in his community, playing in the McAlisterville Community Band, as a member of the Loyal Order of the Odd Fellows, the Fayette Lions Club and the Lost Creek Rod and Gun Club.
Robert was born and raised on his family farm, which he operated until his retirement in 1985.
Bob was an avid hunter, bowler and investor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service, Tuesday at the Church.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial donations in Mr. Watts’ memory be made to the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 91, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
