Obituary for Patricia L. "Pat" Mingle (Minick)

Patricia L. ”Pat” Mingle, 76, of Mifflintown, died at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on July 8, 1940 in Mifflintown, Juniata County she was a daughter of the late James A. “Jim” and Dorothy L. “Dot” (Leiter) Minick. On November 8, 1959 she married her surviving husband Carl Brady Mingle, with whom she was blessed to share more than 57 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, Terry A. Mingle and his companion Kim Basom, Mark C. Mingle and his wife Lynn, all of Mifflintown, a brother, James R. “Jim” Minick and his wife Darlene, of Reedsville, a nephew Jason C. Minick and his wife Erin, of Mechanicsburg, and 2 precious grandchildren, Justin C. Mingle and Rachel Beward.
Mrs. Mingle was a 1959 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, where she sang in the church choir for many years and served on the Pastor Parrish committee. She at one time was a very active member and officer of the Ladies Aux. of the Mifflintown Hose Co. Fire Co., and she was a former member of the Ladies Aux. of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post 5863, Mifflintown. She also served as a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 60, Mifflintown.
In earlier life, she was an LPN at Lewistown Hospital, after which she worked at the Juniata Valley Bank, Port Royal and she retired as the Bookkeeper from Beward’s Pharmacy, Mifflintown.
Pat enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Pat loved spending time with her family and took great joy from attending and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the funeral home.
