Anthony “Tony” Cilestio, 79, of McAlisterville died at 4:53 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on June 29, 1937 in Bristol, Bucks County he was a son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Viola (Dupont) Cilestio. On February 14, 1979 he married his surviving wife, Patricia M. (O’Neill) Cilestio with whom he was blessed to share more than 37 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Bryan Cilestio and his wife Kathy, James Cilestio and his wife Jessica, Michelle Winter and her husband Brad, all of Bristol, Patricia Johnson, of Philadelphia, Mary Sayas and her husband Sam, of Fayetteville, NC, Walter Winkelspecht, of Duncannon, Elizabeth Pregler, of Port St. Lucy, FL and April Torrey and her husband Victor, of Duncannon, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Anthony was a member of the Pegasus Flying Club, the Mill Creek Flying Club; Mifflintown Flying Club, the Tri County Sky Barons, a former member of the J.E. Bowen, Jr. AMVETS Post 122, Thompsontown and dedicated much of his time to the Fayette Fire Company and the Fayette Fire Police. He played the role of Santa for the Fayette Fire Company and several other organizations during the Christmas season.
Mr. Cilestio was an electrician, employed as a civilian contractor for the McGuire Air Force Base, Burlington County, NJ until retiring in 1987. He then owned and operated Creekside Electric, Bristol, until 1999
Tony loved to hunt, and to build and fly radio controlled airplanes.
A viewing will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville; followed by the funeral at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. The Fayette Fire Company and EMS will perform a bell ceremony following the service.
