Obituary for James L. "Jim" Reynolds

James L. “Jim” Reynolds, 78, of McAlisterville, died at 2:24 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born on August 29, 1937, in Norristown, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late James Reynolds and Mary I. (Palm) Scott. On January 10, 1959, he married his surviving wife Beverly M. (Kirk) Reynolds of McAlisterville, with whom he was blessed to share more than 57 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Bonita Manbeck and her husband Timothy, of McAlisterville, Brian Reynolds and his wife Theresa, of Reading, Valorie Rice and her husband Richard, of Tuscarora, Tina Eaton and her husband Jeremy, of McAlisterville, Donald Reynolds and his wife Michelle, of Richfield, Gwendolyn O’Donell and her husband Timothy, of Honey Grove, Jamie Swartz and her husband Bob, of McAlisterville; a sister, Helen Peterson, of McAlisterville; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Deborah A. Maneval and a grandson, Derek James Eaton preceded him in death.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown.
Mr. Reynolds was employed as a truck driver for Boyd E. Diller, Inc., Enola.
Jim was an avid fan of NASCAR, old western movies, country music, puzzles and the television show Hee-Haw.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Brittin F. Stimeling officiating. Interment will be in the McCulluch’s Mills Cemetery where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the funeral home.
