Carol L. Ramsey, 71, of Mifflintown, died at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village Mifflin.
Born on March 23, 1945 in Tuscarora Twp., Juniata County she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Thompson) Deneen. On October 11, 1963 she married her surviving husband Gary L. Ramsey, with whom she was blessed to share more than 52 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, Steven G. Ramsey and his wife Veronica, Jeffrey T. Ramsey; sisters, Janet Cleck, Dorothy Nicholl, all of Mifflintown; and 2 grandsons, Jessiah S. and Blake R. Ramsey; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cats; Minnie and Daisy May and her dogs, Josie and Jazzie.
Mrs. Ramsey was a 1963 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, and a graduate of Empire Beauty School, Lewistown, and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown. She was also a member of the Mifflin Chapter 260, Order of the Eastern Star, Mifflintown and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 925, Millerstown.
In earlier life, she was a beautician and along with her family, she owned and operated Ramsey’s Car Wash I and II, Ramsey’s Garage and Ramsey’s Trucking, all of Mifflintown.
Carol loved her animals and spending time with her family, especially enjoying their trips to Disney World. She was always more concerned for other people than herself.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Stephanie Rupert and Congregational Care Coordinator Mary Delancey officiating. Interment will be private and in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be no viewing; however, family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home, after which an Eastern Star Service will be accorded by the Mifflin Chapter.
