Obituary for Esther May Dunn (Casner)

Esther May Dunn, 79, of McAlisterville passed away at 7:33 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2015 at the home of her sister in Walker Township, Juniata County.
Born August 3, 1936 in Walker Township, Juniata County she was a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Marjorie M. (Renninger) Casner. Her husband, Harry E. Dunn of McAlisterville, survives and she was preceded in death by her first husband Marlin T. Jacobs.
Surviving are her 2 sons, Jack J. Jacobs and his wife Gail, of Townsend, DE, Jerry Jacobs and his wife Madonna, of Dover, DE, a step-daughter, Penny Dunn, of New Oxford, 2 step-sons, Scott Dunn and his wife Karen, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Rodney Dunn and his wife Jennifer, of Middleburg, siblings, Robert P. Casner, Stanley B. Casner, William H. Casner, Roxie Goshorn, all of Mifflintown, and Marjorie Kistler, of East Waterford, she also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Henry C. “Cal” Casner, Merrill S. Casner, Frederick B. “Barry “ Casner and a sister, Helen Sonja Hockenberry preceded her in death.
In 1954 she graduated from Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and she retired from J.C. Penny’s, Dover, DE. Previous to her employment at J.C. Penny’s she had worked as an accountant at ILC Industries, and the Dover Air Force Base all of Dover, DE.
Esther was devoted to her church and loved spending time with her family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm., Thursday, October 29, 2012 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will be in the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. on Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
