MIFFLINTOWN, Thelma M. Jones, 80, of Mifflintown passed away at 10:39 a.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at her home, surrounded by family and friends.
Born on June 12, 1934 in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late William P. and Bessie E. (Nealman) Bossinger. On August 2, 1958 she married her husband, Russell W. Jones, with whom she shared more than 56 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sue Zook and her husband Joe, Sherry Allen and her husband Clarence, Cindy Hart and her husband Jim, Nancy Coder and her husband Ed, all of Mifflintown, Tim Jones and his companion Tonya Earhart, of Mifflin, Wendy Sassaman and her husband Lyle, of Beavertown; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren as well as her loving cat Tommy.
One infant son, Stephen P. Jones, two brothers, Henry I. Bossinger, William G. Bossinger and one sister, Helen I. Bossinger, preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Licking Creek.
Thelma was a homemaker, whose hobbies included, playing cards, going shopping and watching humming birds; but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Linda Fultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Locust Run Cemetery, Thompsontown.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from the funeral home.
