Obituary for Dorothy H. Imes

DOYLES MILLS, Dorothy Harriet Imes, 80, entered into the joy of her salvation and into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at her home. Having been justified by His marvelous grace according to the hope of eternal life.
Dorothy was born in Benfer, Snyder County on March 16, 1934 to the late Homer and Mary (Benfer) Keister. On December 24, 1953 she married Merle Imes, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2010.
Dorothy was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. The heartache of her loss will be shared by her children: Larry M. Imes, Carol M. Lyter and her husband Tom, Mary C. Ennist and her husband Mike, W. Edward Imes, all of Mifflin; one sister-in-law, Fay Campbell and her husband Tom, also of Mifflin; three grandchildren, Ryan Ennist and his wife Chrissy, of Drexel Hill, Jenna Imes, of Allentown, Brooks Ennist, of Marysville and one step granddaughter, Michelle Holler and her husband Travis, of Mifflin. Dorothy was also looking forward to the arrival of her first great-granddaughter, in July.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Reich Matter, Beatrice Snook and Geraldine Keister, who died in infancy.
Dorothy was a woman of great faith and a prayer warrior. She was an avid reader and loved to play Skip-bo. Dorothy loved to read her bible every day and had read through it many times. Dorothy shared her love of Christ with her family and lived her life according to the word of God.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with her two nephews the Rev. Darvin Reich, Rev. Timothy Reich and the Rev. Dennis Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Viewing will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from the funeral home.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Mifflin Juniata Area Agency on Aging, c/o Home Delivered Meal Program, 249 W.
