MIFFLINTOWN, Robert P. “Bob” Zimmerman, 69, of Mifflintown died at 1:15 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2012 at his residence.
Born on February 25, 1943, in Derry Twp., Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Calvin D. “Caddy” and Alma (Rickenbaugh) Zimmerman. On February 25, 1988, he married his surviving wife, Sonya (Zeigler) Zimmerman, with whom he spent more than 24 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Tambra L. Zimmerman and her companion Michael W. Leister, of Thompsontown, Cindy L. Zimmerman, of Mifflintown, one step-son, Jamie L. Zeigler and his fiancée Brandi Romig, of McClure; three brothers, Ronald D. Zimmerman, of Mifflintown, Calvin E. “Cook” Zimmerman and his wife Pamela, of State College, W. Edwin Zimmerman and his wife Carla, of Mifflintown and he leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alisha M. Niman, Michael J. Niman, Seth M. Leister, Robert P. Leister, John A. Leister, Aaron L. Zeigler, Connor R. Zeigler and three great grandchildren, Alayna D. Niman, Landon M. Gibbons, and Jaxton S. Niman.
Bob was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Oakland Mills and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Zimmerman retired in 1986, from C. D. Zimmerman Truck Lines, Mifflintown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Rev. Edward D’Agostino officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be no viewing.
