THOMPSONTOWN, Kirk M. Isham, 59, of Thompsontown, died at 7:40 p.m., on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at his home.
Born December 25, 1951, in San Diego, San Diego County, CA he was a son of Dona D. (Stein) Isham, of Thompsontown and the late Eldon F. Isham. On, May 5, 1990, he wed his surviving wife Reine M. (Brendel) Isham, with whom he spent more than 21 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Michael A. Spears and his wife Carlie, of San Diego, CA, Michelle L. Kuhn and her husband Shane, of Richfield; two sisters, Pamela D. Henton and her husband Ellis, of San Antonio, TX, Cheryl L. Taylor, of San Diego, CA; one aunt, June Dustin and her husband Carl, of La Jolla, CA and he leaves behind, seven grandchildren, Matthew Aurand, Christiaan Levan, Jordan Spears, Jaelyn Spears, Jaeden Kuhn, Alexa Kuhn and Cadyn Kuhn.
Kirk was a 1970 graduate of Grossmont High School, La Mesa, CA, and a 1975 graduate of San Diego State University.
For the last 17 years, Mr. Isham had served as the facilities manager for Hamilton Health Care, of Harrisburg and previously had been employed as a raw materials analyst for General Dynamic, of San Diego.
He was a member of the Locust Run United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 177, Newport.
An avid outdoorsman, Kirk loved animals and enjoyed golf, softball and camping. Kirk also enjoyed watching sports on television, painting and listening to Jazz; however, his greatest joy came from his grandchildren, especially attending all of their activities.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Rev. Maureen Wagner officiating. Interment will be private.
Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the funeral home.
